A lot of you have been asking for a vegan bacon recipe on our Instagram, so here it is! An easy homemade tofu bacon ????.
I recommend using a low sodium soy sauce for this or tamari for gluten-free.
Also, to make it taste even more to smoked bacon use liquid smoke. I didn’t have some at home while making the video, but it gives it a great touch.

Vegan Bacon – Homemade Tofu Bacon

This easy vegan bacon tastes so delicious! It has a great crunch to it, and we go rid of all the fat that real bacon has, so many benefits to this. ????????

Slice, season and bake the tofu
✅ Drain the tofu. If not using vacuum packed super-firm tofu, wrap it in a clean towel and stack a heavy object (like a cast iron pan) on top of it to press out excess liquid. (Or, use a tofu press if you've got one). Leave the tofu to press while you measure out the other ingredients.
✅ Preheat the oven to 200 C/390 F.
✅ Whisk together the remaining ingredients in a medium sized bowl. You can also add some water to get more marinade for more tofu.
✅ Cut the tofu into (very) thin strips.
✅ Take each tofu slice and dip it fully into the marinade, then place it on the prepared baking rack. Repeat until all of the tofu slices are dipped, spacing them out evenly on the rack. Set aside the excess marinade.
✅ Bake 30-40 minutes until crispy.
