This vegan Tarte Soleil Pesto Appetizer is perfect for any party.

It looks very nice, it’s very easy to make, and it’s delicious.

Learn how to make a classic French appetizer known as a Tarte Soleil.

  1. Make a flax egg: to flax meal add hot water and let sit for 30  minutes.

    Preheat the oven 180C/350F.

  2. Cover a puff pastry with  a good amount of pesto, place the second pastry on top

  3. Place a bowl/circle formed object with a 10 cm diameter in the middle and cut the pastry in 8.

    Then, depending on the size of your pastry, cut every segment again in 2 or 3 pieces. Every segment needs to be small.

    Twist every segment carefully.

  4. Glaze with the flax-egg and sprinkle the seeds on top.

  5. Bake 20 minutes on 180C/350F in the middle of the oven and then 5 to 10 minutes on the floor of the oven, so it gets nice crispy and brown from below.
