Gluten-Free Vegan Sausages

A while back, I made some vegan sausages with gluten and beans, and it ended up being one of our most popular recipes.

But, many requested a gluten-free version, and of course, I couldn’t leave my gluten-free friends out. πŸ˜‰

It’s a super simple recipe, not as meaty as when using gluten but still a very good vegan sausage. And the cool thing is that you can use all the spices you like, to give it your own twist.

Gluten-Free Vegan Sausages

We all love a good sausage, right? Fortunately, for us vegans, there are plenty of options.



Off On

  1. Wash your chickpeas and pat them dry, they should be completely dry.

  2. To a blender add the oats, walnuts and blitz it all until grounded.Β 

  3. Then add in the dried chickpeas, garlic, onion, the chia egg (let the chia and water sit for about 10 minutes), tomato paste, tamari or soy sauce, dry onion, smoked paprika, oregano, rosemary, cumin, chili flakes, nutritional yeast, salt, and blend again. It should not be saucy, if it's too liquid add a bit more oats and if it's too dry you might need to add some water.

  4. Roll sausages, make sure the dough is evenly distributed.

  5. Next tightly roll them in aluminum, and try to keep them clean so you can reuses them the next time you make sausages.

  6. To a big pot add water, bring to a boil, add steamin basket and let the sausages steam for 20 minutes with the lid on.

  7. You can now have the sausages like this, fry them in a pan or put them on the BBQ. Enjoy!
