Afghan Style Okra In Tomato Sauce

About 4 years ago, I had some Afghani friends and was invited to eat at their place, and had okra for the first time in my life.

It was so good, but since then, I never had it again… So, I took a shot at making it, but It didn’t taste the way I recalled it tasting πŸ€”.

I must have used the wrong recipe, couldn’t really find one either. Let me know please if you know a good Afghan okra recipe! Would love to try again :).

Afghan Style Okra In Tomato Sauce

Afhan okra is so good but I'm still looking for the recipe I had 4 years ago!

  1. To a hot pan add some coconut oil, let melt and then sautΓ© your onion and garlic.

  2. Pour in the tomato sauce, followed by the okra and spices (turmeric, black pepper, salt).

  3. Cover with the lid and let cook for 15 minutes, until the okra is soft.
