“Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food”.

This is a popular quote from Hippocrates, a Greek physician and considered to be the father of western medicine.

Doesn’t this go against what most doctors and hospitals do?

The first thing most doctors do nowadays is prescribe a ton of medicines instead of looking at peoples lifestyle and food choices.

Hippocrates considered nutrition one of the main tools that a doctor can use.

In the original oath doctors had to do this was what he said about that:

โ€œI will apply dietetic and lifestyle measures to help the sick to my best ability and judgment; I will protect them from harm and injustice.โ€

But this has been completely disregarded by most doctors.

Diet and lifestyle regime were at the center of his thoughts.

These were the primary tools for treatment that a doctor can use.

I have yet to hear a doctor tell me that I should consume less meat and eat more plant-based.

What about you?

What are your thoughts on this?

I’d love to hear you out :).

Thanks for your support, appreciate and love you โ™ฅ๐Ÿค.
