If you’ve ever wondered how to sprout lentils at home, let me tell you that it’s easy and totally worth it.

It’s straightforward (you just need to soak them), and they are tasty and great for sandwiches, salads, wraps and Buddha bowls.

You can eat them raw, which adds a nice crunch to your dish, or blanch them for a minute to soften them both in texture and in taste.

Here is how to sprout lentils:

  1. Rinse your lentils. Place them in a jar/bowl (big enough because their volume will increase quite a lot, up to x3). Cover with water and let sit overnight.
  2. The next morning, drain and rinse your lentils. Return them to the jar/bowl without water and come back to your lentils every evening and morning.

Sprouted lentils are super healthy because by sprouting them you decrease them amount of anti-nutrients, and this increases the amount of protein absorption and minerals such as magnesium, iron, zinc…

Just imagine, out of those small legumes comes the power to grow a whole plant that brings forth a ton of food. Just think about how much power must be packed in these small things!
